BELIEF #1
People can be many other things, but they can never be you. So fully own what makes you, YOU.
BELIEF #2
We were never meant to just make it through—life is meant to light us up, to be joyful and meaningful.
BELIEF #3
When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
I'M DANNI
And I haven't always looked this way. I was raised believing life was; go to school, get a stable job, have a family and build a solid life for myself. While this laser focus led me to a high-paying career in my 20s and family in my 30s, it didn't leave me with a sense of what truly brought me alive. I felt so disconnected from myself as a person and life felt heavy, heavy, HEAVY. And, no surprises, so did my body.
My struggles with my body and emotional eating began when I was 14 and for 20 years, food took up far more space in my life than it deserved. I believed my battle with food said something about who I was, that I lacked discipline and couldn't be trusted around food. That food would always have control over me and I would forever be the woman starting over on Monday.
And what I eventually realised was that freedom from this wasn't just about eating differently. It was about LIVING differently. Allowing myself to have needs, to do things I felt passionate about and to actually say something when I wasn’t okay. No more emotional buffering with food so I didn't upset the apple cart.
In my early and mid 30s I decided that I was way too young to be feeling so stuck. With about 35 more years ahead of my working life ahead of me, I figured that since this is MY life I am going to make it into one I truly enjoy. And the biggest thing I have learned? Once you start living true to your heart and honouring what you really want, there is absolutely no going back! Life has become so much better than I ever thought it could be in at least a million different ways.
During this time I made more progress in my long-term battle between food, my emotions and my body than I made in any other diet or exercise regime. My mindset came along in leaps and bounds and my binge eating and food addiction dropped away. The extra weight disappeared, any body dysmorphia resolved and, of course, my physical health vastly improved.
So whilst my struggles lasted for 20 years, I am pleased to tell you that you do not have to take another 20 years to discover this process for yourself! I write and coach to share the life lessons that I have garnered along the way in the hopes of helping people to be their most steadfast, authentic selves, happy and at peace in their bodies. I am a certified life coach with a 17 year background in the medical field and an intense passion for self-development.
My work is about helping women move beyond the shame, self-criticism, and constant battle with food. There is honestly nothing I love more than watching people succeed in their goals and live the life of their dreams. If this is you, click the ‘Learn More’ button below to see what I have on offer!
