What is it that brings you alive NOW?

Somewhere along the way, many women fall prey to the daily grind, becoming experts at responsibility and become a stranger to themselves. Life becomes a series of tasks to complete, people to care for, problems to solve, and boxes to tick. And while there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being responsible, it’s so easy to deprioritize and lose touch with the things that make you feel most like you. Not to mention, life starts to feel so heavy, heavy, HEAVY and our bodies can start to reflect this. That's why I think it's so important to ask yourself every now and then, what really brings you alive? Not what you're good at, not what you're supposed to enjoy, not what looks productive. But what genuinely lights you up inside?
The answer to this question is often much simpler than we expect. Laughing with family and friends, being in nature, dancing around the house, learning something new, being creative, watching the sunset, spending time with animals, reading a book that completely pulls you in. These moments reconnect us with who we really are underneath the pressure, expectations, and endless mental noise. And you know what? When we create more of these moments, food often takes up less space. Not because we're trying harder, but because we're meeting some of the emotional needs we were asking food to meet.
We all have a deep need for joy, connection, meaning, novelty, rest, and self-expression. When those needs go unmet for long enough depression and anxiety rise, and we naturally start looking for quick forms of relief. That's why this question matters so much. Not because finding a new hobby will magically solve emotional eating, but because it helps shift your focus from what you're trying to stop doing to what you're trying to create more of. So instead of asking, "How do I eat less?" start asking, "How do I live more?" Because as you begin to truly live more, rather than just exist, you begin to naturally eat less and that is where powerful change lies.
